Cynthiana Fall Events

Many 2020 events have been postponed due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Below are the events still happening this year. We will hopefully have more events in 2021.


Ashford Acres Inn

Friday Night Fresh Market
September 25, 5-9pm

Visit Ashford Acres to browse and shop for locally produced foods and crafts. Dinner will be available for purchase and can be enjoyed anywhere on the property.

Fall Wreath Making Class with Lauren Spencer from Brownings
Saturday, September 26, 1pm...$90

Join Lauren in the Event Barn and learn how to make your own beautiful fall wreath! 

 Fall Cake Decorating Class with Ashley Nettleship from The Simple Kitchen
Sunday, October 18, 2pm

Enjoy this fun class where Ashley will teach you how to decorate a fall theme cake. 

 Halloween Afternoon Tea
Sunday, October 18, 2pm, $22 per person

Dress in your spooky, weird and super cute costumes (or just dress up as you!) to attend our annual Halloween Afternoon Tea! 

 Fall to Table Dinner Event
Sunday, October 25, 6:30, $50

Enjoy a night out dining under the stars! We're moving the tables and chairs outside for a fun fall dinner experience. 

Haunted Houses

Cinderella's Dungeon- 201 South Main Street. Every Friday and Saturday Night in October,5pm-Midnight. $5 per person. Kids 8 and under $3. For more information visit JJ's or Ernie's Sports Bar Facebook Page.

Galactic Gateway of Terror II -Galactic Bowling Alley, 1354 US 27 North. Every Friday and Saturday Night starting October 9th-October 31st. 7pm-Midnight.$10 per person. Bring a canned good and receive $1.00 off admission. Children under 6 are free. Warning:Fog machines and strobe lights in use. 

Witches Night Out

Dress up in your favorite be-witching wardrobe and spend the night on the town, witches style. There will be shopping and drink specials all around town and the showing of Hocus Pocus on the big screen at Rohs Opera House at 7pm. The Harrison Cynthiana Witches will be making an appearance as well! All ages welcome.

Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Bring your Pumpkins  to be registered in front of the Justice Center on Court Street to be entered into our Pumpkin Carving/Decorating Contest on Saturday, October 10th between 10am & noon! There will be 3 judged categories - Best Carving, Best Decorated/Creative, Peoples Choice. There will be a $50.00 prize for the winner of each category so get creative and Good Luck everyone! 

Cynthiana Harrison County Public Library

The booktacular pumpkin decorating contest- October 5th-23rd

Decorate a pumpkin or a gourd as your favorite book character with a literary theme. Vote for your favorite at the library or send in an email to the library. The winner will receive a Sweet Treat Basket! 

Trick or Treat Cynthiana

The Cynthiana Main Street Program will be having their Treats on Main again this year, Saturday, October 31st from 6pm-8pm around the County Courthouse. If your organization or business would like to also pass out candy here, Court Street, a section of Pike Street and Joe B Hall Court will be closed as well. There will be directional signage and socially distanced candy stops for the kids. 

Trick or Treating is still on for the community as of 10/9/2020, unless the Governor makes a different decision. The CDC guidelines consider door to door trick or treating a high risk activity, so please take precautions if you choose to do so. You can also follow the city of Cynthiana on Facebook for updates.
